Guten Tag,
The week was good. It was a little bit slower than the weeks in the past, because, like, no one was able to meet with us. And some people are on vacation, too. And when people here go on vacation, it’s for, like, 4 weeks. There was a family we ate lunch with yesterday, named the Bartlings. Sister Bartling is British - and they had just gotten back from 8 weeks of vacation in the States! It’s crazy (lol). They are really awesome. Bruder (Brother) Bartling is, like, one of those guys you can see being a General Authority. He has a deep voice, too, and sounds kinda like Elder Oaks. It’s awesome, and not many German people have deep voices.
Schwester (Sister) Schulze is good. She will be going to the Temple this Saturday! She wanted for us to come with her, so we asked the Mission President and he said ‘no’. So we won't be going. Which is a bummer, but it’s all good. Natalie is doing good. We will probably be meeting with her tomorrow. She already has a testimony of the Book of Mormon and stuff, which is awesome. We have to help her stop smoking. Everyone here in Europe smokes. This place is, like, constantly on fire, you could say (lol). It’s kinda crazy. We only got to meet with Reimund once this past week, and we usually meet with him 2 or 3 times. We met with Majit, our investigator from Iran. We actually saw him today and talked with him for a little bit.
But what was really cool, is that on Saturday we went to a place called Kehl. It’s right on the Rhein (Rhine), and you can see France and stuff. So I saw France, but that’s not the cool part. We went there to visit a less active in the hospital there. And she is in the Intensive station. We went there to try and visit her, but she didn't want to have any visitors, or anything. So it was kind of a bummer and we were walking out of the hospital, and this guy heard us speaking English and asked us if we were American and all that good jazz. He was with his daughter. And he just started talking to us and they, like, invited us to coffee with them and stuff. We were like, “Sure, but we don't drink coffee”, and he's, like, “Thats cool”. And we pretty much spoke English the whole time because he worked for an American company and so he has been there a lot. And then his daughter loves speaking English and she lived in England for a little bit. His name was Joachim, and her name was Lilly. They were way nice people. Like, he bought us cake and stuff when we were at the cafe. He isn't religious at all, but his daughter really is and she was way open, and all the stuff we talked about she liked. And she wants to meet with us and stuff. Thats sweet! We may have found a new investigator.
Oh yes, I went to the tallest water falls in Europe today. Ya ... they were tiny. You will see pics. They’re not very big. But it was still fun. But thats all for this week. Love ya and peace!
